If you are Sir Alan Sugar, oops sorry...Lord Sugar then whatever you drink is irrelevant.
According to the noble Lord enterprise is in your genes. This is the report of what he was saying at a talk at the British Library last week for Enterprise Week.
The consensus was that apart from some very sound advice at the beginning it was a very disappointing show with some comments being hotly contested.
You can read a good account of it by Dan Martin on Business Forum

Builders and accountants... no subtlety heh heh

I'm a coffee-with-milk-heated-in-the-microwave and a spoon of honey kind of person but I am working mostly for a salary these days ;-)

Question is: what kind of beverage should I be drinking if I want to *become* and entrepreneur?

Hi Iain

I have just watched your 'What's in the Car Park' and 'USP' U Tube vids and wanted to say that, as ever, you have just said it as it is, without all the flowering up that the self professed, and who usually come with an Amercan or Australian accent, experts like to do!

Anyway, keep em coming Iain, they are like a breath of fresh air in this overly complicated, overly beuracratic and sometimes stifleing world of business.

All the Best

Iain, next time someone asks me about their business idea, I will simply send them to this video.

This was my first taste of Expresso Shots (although I now realise I've heard of you before) and it is EXCELLENT. Do you and Billy Connolly both eat the same kind of porridge oats for breakfast? I think I need to eat some!

Ask yourself what car YOU drive (see Iain's vid about what cars are in your car park to make sure you're driving the right one). Just make sure you dress to suit YOUR/YOUR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS' car - and then add a wee splash of personal colour or quirkiness that sets you apart from the others. Like-minded potential contacts will be sure to recognise you, you'll feel comfortable, and have just enough 'funkiness' to meet the dress code.

It's in the detail - funky buttons, socks and pens (and of course jewellery) can all do the trick.

Funky casual - I have to admit I totally made this dress code up but there are many variations on display within the Cornish business community.

Toby Parkins favours the linen suit/hawaiian-esque shirt combo with flip flips but I'm not sure how practical this is for a November awards ceremony.

Rob Edlin leans towards his favourite raspberry shade, all in the name of brand identity.

Laura McKay, Hub committee member and Queen of FunkyCas, manages to pull together any number of bargains from ASOS/Primarni or supermarket chic

Any UCP employee - I have been led to assume that in order to join the hallowed ranks of UCP staff you must have an eye for colour. For boys this means colourful shirts/sweaters, for girls this means bling, bright tights and shoes.

I believe funky casual appears very 'thrown together last minute, this old thing?' but involves much consideration and time umming and ahhing in front of the wardrobe.
